Knowledge Management and Repositories¶
These are the places where archetypes and templates are stored, governed, and shared.
Clinical Knowledge Manager (CKM) - international instance¶
| Status | Current - the canonical international archetype repository |
| Cost | Free to use (registration required to contribute) |
| Operator | openEHR International |
| Platform provider | Ocean Health Systems |

What it is: The global repository and governance environment for openEHR archetypes and templates, operated by openEHR International on the Ocean Health Systems CKM platform.
What it does: It hosts the lifecycle of archetypes from proposal through community review to publication. It includes terminology binding management, FHIR and OMOP mappings, AQL query artefacts, and release-set governance.
CKM instances: Many national programmes run their own CKM instances on the same Ocean Health Systems software. These include UK, Norwegian, Australian, Slovenian, and Catalan instances.
CKM Rocks (Ocean Health Systems)¶
| Status | Active |
| Cost | Commercial (lighter-weight than full CKM) |
| Open source | No |
| Owner and developer | Ocean Health Systems |
| Available from | CKM Rocks |
What it is: A lighter-weight version of the CKM platform for smaller organisations that need local governance without the full CKM feature set.
